Community Involvement
As an Iowa-founded and family-operated company, we recognize the importance of being involved with our local community. From hosting a variety of free family-friendly events, supporting local organizations in need, and giving our employees meaningful volunteer opportunities, Homemakers is a place where community matters.

Supply Drives
We regularly host supply drives to collect clothing, school supplies, pet supplies, and more for local organizations in need.

Women's Empowerment
We strive to lift up women in our community by sponsoring events such as Remarkable Women (presented by WHO13) and the Women Who Lead panel, as well as donating to fund breast cancer research every October.

Community Champions
Every year, we highlight individuals that went above and beyond to make a positive impact in their community and reward them with a Homemakers shopping trip on us!

Event Sponsorships
We’re proud to sponsor various events in the Des Moines area, such as the Iowa State Fair and the Urbandale Police Department’s National Night Out.

Volunteer Time Off
Finding time to volunteer outside of work can be tricky. That’s why we provide a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program to help alleviate these roadblocks by providing different opportunities to give back. Every full-time Homemakers employee is granted time off (in addition to their regular Paid Time Off) every year to volunteer in the community! Opportunities vary from volunteering at food shelters, to planting trees, to setting up non-profit events, so each employee can choose to volunteer for the causes that matter most to them.
